On-Campus Housing
Check-out time on Sunday is noon.
Swipe cards will be issued to each resident and must be returned at the end of the conference. There will be a $24.00 charge for each swipe card not returned within 24 hours of check out.
Upon departure, please strip your bed and leave your linens in the room.
Registration
All registration throughout the conference will take place at the Information Desk on the 1st Floor of the Student Center. The area will include a bulletin board for updated information about the conference.
Loom Drop-off
All floor and table looms, sewing machines, and other equipment can be taken directly to their respective classrooms and remain there until participants depart. Unloading can be done on the side entrances shown on the map, parking is available in these areas.
Sullivan Academic Building will be open from 7 AM Wednesday to Sunday at 4 PM. Building will close at 6 PM every day.
Student helpers will be available on the following days at the front and back entrances of Sullivan Hall:
Thursday 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Thursday 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Friday 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM
Gathering Place
Looking for a place to hang out, to meet with your friends, to relax between classes? Drop by the Commuter Lounge on the first floor of Sullivan Hall during the day.
Computer Usage and Wifi
Wireless internet access points are available in most locations across campus, including residence halls. To connect a wireless computer or other mobile device for the first time, see the Resource Guide in your registration packet for the network name and password. All rooms have data jacks; bring an ethernet cable as back-up.
Campus Meals
Advance purchase of meals is recommended, but on-site purchase will be available.
There are no other meal options on campus.
Wednesday - Sunday:
Breakfast 7:00 am - 8:30 am
Lunch 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Dinner 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
(no dinner on Sunday)
All meals will be served cafeteria style in the dining hall. Gluten-free and vegetarian options will be available at every meal.
Comfort
Lectures, shows, and workshops will be held in air-conditioned spaces on campus. You are encouraged to bring a sweater if you are inclined to be cold.
Liability
NEWS and NEWS 2021 Trustees do not carry insurance on persons at or property brought to the conference. If insurance is desired, the individual must provide it.
