New England Weavers' Seminar: Instructor Proposals
NEWS is commonly held during the second week of July in odd-numbered years. We offer classes and workshops from Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning. Classes are offered in 3-hour increments (half-day, also referred to as one session) and vary in length from one to six sessions (3 days). Both lectures and hands-on workshops are offered. In the past we have offered classes in weaving on and off-loom, sewing with handwovens, dyeing, warp painting, polymer clay, weaving with metal and other unusual materials, and non-loom interlacement techniques.
Instructors may be offered the opportunity to judge our Gallery Show or Fashion Show or give an evening talk. We ask all instructors to submit a piece for our Faculty Show.
Our program is set for NEWS 2021, but we'd love to hear about new program ideas for NEWS 2023. Please use this contact form to email us with a brief description of the programs you are offering. We will put you in touch with the Programs Chair. Thank you!
