We’ll be getting a private, small group presentation with curator Lauren Whitley, who will bring out some of the woven New England textiles from storage.
Later in the day, we’ll participate in a hands-on demonstration of flax processing with Michelle Parrish, who is a weaver and a museum educator.
And of course, there will be time to visit the houses in the village and explore exhibits at the Flynt Center, Historic Deerfield’s state-of-the-art museum facility.
The Flynt Center will feature a special exhibit, "Body by Design: Fashionable Silhouettes from the Ideal to the Real".
Note that this is an all-day tour. Bus transportation to and from Westfield State will be included, as well a choice of box lunch. Lunch choices will be emailed to participants in late May/early June. Participants will board the bus after breakfast and return to Westfield in time for dinner and the evening social activities.
