The “Barbara Bag” is an attractive and functional dowel-handled bag of woven fabric. Its size, comfortable grip, and two inside and outside deep pockets make it perfect for traveling and bringing supplies to meetings. For those guild potlucks, a 9”x13” pan fits securely inside. The lined bag is 14 ½” long, 9” wide, and 13” high with a base inserted for added stability. As we sew our bags, we will break occasionally to discuss altering the pattern, factors to consider when designing handwoven bag fabric, and learn sewing techniques that can also be applied to garment making.
