I am a weaver who is fascinated with fiber and handmade paper. Fiber has many characteristics that can be articulated through the paper-making process. Japan and some European countries have inspiring histories of paper, yarn and clothing. We will examine material and use, as well as spend the first part of the day preparing our own set of handmade papers. Then we will prepare the paper for spinning to create yarn suitable for knitting, weaving, and other hand manipulation techniques.
