The old manuscripts don’t look like a current weaving publication! There’s a bit more work involved in unlocking the mystery of an exciting 18th century weave structure. This class is a basic introduction to recognizing what is on the page and how to use those “wiggles, squiggles, and lines” for today’s weaving. We will be working from manuscripts and early 20th century printed books because those too are confusing - until you know more about the earlier drafting conventions and looms.
